I did a bunch of covers with Gabriel Hardman for the 12 issue series Planet of the Apes: Cataclysm. We didn't do a cover for every issue. I think we did 9 in all. I posted up to #7, and here's the rest of them (#9-#12)...

Planet of the Apes: Cataclysm

Here's another great Planet of the Apes cover from Gabriel Hardman for a new ongoing series over at Boom! Studios. I've had some really good luck with getting some GREAT covers to color lately.

Here's the announcement of the series over at Comics Alliance, which you should go check out to see the other covers by some amazing artists. Below is Gabe's cover with my colors. I was thinking of that James Bond Moonraker poster when I picked my color scheme for this one, blue and yellow!

Damn dirty apes...

I love the first 5 Planet of the Apes movies (hated the Burton one, enjoyed the most recent one). I also love Gabriel Hardman and Chris Samnee art. So, the day that I colored two Apes covers drawn by those guys was a really good day. They're for the Planet of the Apes Annual from Boom! Studios (out in August I think).

Snarked update...

I've been coloring the covers for Roger Langridge's book Snarked over at Boom! Studios and I haven't been very good about posting them here. So, here's an update with the covers for issues 3-7...

Catch up...

Gotta love the rush before the holidays.  A lot of work getting done, but not much else as you can see from the lack of posts. So, before I dissapear for another two weeks, here's some colors!

I did this cover for a book called The Rinse. The cover is drawn by Paul Azaceta...

I did two versions for Boom! to choose from, and here's the one they didn't choose (forgot to make the lines on the table white in this one, whoops!)...

Men of War #3 came out last week and Here's a few pages from that book...

And there's a preview of Fearless #3 up over at CBR that has some of Mark Bagely's art, and here are some pages with Paul Pelletier's art (they split the art duties on the book)...

Anchor is "2011 Great Graphic Novels for Teens"

Hey, check this out. The Anchor Vol. 1 (a book I colored) has been selected by the Young Adult Library Service Association as one of their 2011 Great Graphic Novels for Teens. Here's the official press release...

January 21, 2011 - Los Angeles, CA - BOOM! Studios is proud to announce that for the second year in a row the Young Adult Library Service Association (YALSA) has selected a BOOM! Studios original graphic novel, THE ANCHOR VOL. 1: FIVE FURIES, as one of their 2011 Great Graphic Novels for Teens.

This year, YALSA has compiled a list of 63 titles out of 89 official nominations presented annually at the ALA midwinter conference. These titles are recommended for readers ages 12 to 18 and are chosen for their ability to "meet the criteria of both good quality literature and appealing reading for teens."

"We can't express how excited we are to receive this honor once again!" says BOOM! Studios Marketing Director Chip Mosher. "It's a pleasure to see that the hard work and dedication of the entire BOOM! staff does not go unnoticed. Pale Horse #4 cover

Here's a cover I did for Boom! Studios Pale Horse #4. The art is by Leonardo Manco, and it was a pretty fun piece to color. I was playing the game Red Dead Redemption when I colored this, and I was really enjoying the whole western theme!
