Seeeeecret.

Hey there!

I've helped out Bettie Breitweiser on a couple of pages of Secret Avengers in issue 26 and 27, both on stands now.

Here's a few of my pages from 26...

 And here's a page from 27...

He can speak! I can SIIIIIIIIIING!

Hey hey!

Charlie Kirchoff and I got together via skype and talked about coloring. Charlie recorded it and is using it in a new series of podcasts where he talks to other colorists. About coloring of all things!

It's just an informal chat, much like what you'd overhear if you listened to colorists talking at a convention.

Also, the title of this post just came to me as I was typing. I think it's a layered reference to both The Planet of the Apes and The Simpsons, and all because I was coloring a Planet of the Apes cover while chatting with Charlie. :)

So go check it out over at Charlie's blog!

Not coloring related at all...

Look what we found! (anyone looking for a small dog to adopt?)

Last weekend we were visiting my parents when we had the chance to save a starving, wet, and frightened little beagle.

Nayoung and I decided to foster him, and named him Dexter. Dexter has been to the vet and he's been checked out. He got his first set of shots, some flea, tick and worm medicine and a clean bill of health. As of this moment he still needs to be neutered.

Dexter is  5-6 months old and he is currently 16 pounds (Beagles are generally 22-25 pounds once full grown). Dexter is submissive with other dogs, and great with kids and strangers. Our cats aren't brave enough to come out and meet him yet, but my mom's cat slapped him and he just bowed down.

Nayoung and I are working with him to teach him basic commands and good manners, like not to jump up, how to walk on a leash, and not to poop in our house. He's also being crate trained, and doesn't bark or whimper for very long (less than a few minutes) once he's put away for the night. In the few days we've had him he's already progressed leaps and bounds (figuratively, of course!).

As both a beagle and a puppy he's certainly energetic, and can follow his extraordinary nose to into trouble if not watched. But if you're willing to put in the time effort, Nayoung and I think you'll be rewarded with a great pet.

So, if anyone knows someone in the Atlanta area, or however far you're willing to drive, that wants a new companion, please let me know!

Dexter calmly riding in the car for two hours...

 He's SUPER sweet...
Look at that face, how could you not want him!?!...
 He's learning to fetch...
 See, he's not that big...
He LOVES rolling in grass. LOVES it!
 Not drool-y!
Sometimes he likes to just sit and think...
 He loves to run...
He does a pretty good Elvis impression...
Thanks!

Wonder Woman #8

Hey hey! Got back from C2E2, which was a great show. Not too big, but had a great guest list.

Wonder Woman #8 comes out tomorrow (4/17), and there is a lettered preview up here. Wonder Woman gets some cool new armor and takes a trip to hell.

Below are the pages without words...

Just filling in...

I helped out on two books coming out next week. I did 10 pages of Wolverine #304 (preview here). There were a couple of different artists in this this issue and I colored pages by three of them. In this first one that guy is eating an actual wolverine. I'm guessing he doesn't like the hero Wolverine very much...

I also helped out on Winter Soldier #4. In Wolverine I was just asked to color the pages, and not try and match another colorists style. But in Winter Soldier I wanted to try and at least get close to Bettie Brietweiser's style. I'm still missing some of the more sophisticated and subtle details that she uses, but hopefully my pages aren't an eyesore when reading the book. :) Here's a preview of some earlier pages colored by Bettie, and below is the first scene I colored in the book...
